How do I sign up?

Complete the Taxi Registration Form.  Please provide accurate information.

How much do you charge to join?

The service is free; we do not charge booking fee or monthly subscription. We only cover our operational costs by deducting 10% from the value of each ride you undertake.
Can I register more than one vehicle?
Yes but you need to fill in one form per vehicle

Do you charge the customer?

No we don’t. The website is free of charge for customers. We don’t charge the customer anything not to use the website and not for the booking.


What is a working area?

A working area is basically where you wish to pick-up or drop off customers.

Can I set more than one working area?

Yes of course. You can set up many working areas, for example if you wish to get jobs to or from OR Tambo, set OR Tambo airport as your working area. If you wish to work locally in your suburb or town, set this as your working area.

Can I choose my working hours?

Yes of course. You can set your days and hours as you wish.

What type of information do you show on my profile?

We don’t send or show to the customer any personal details, at least not until we confirm the booking with you.  On your profile we show the vehicle features, type, make color, special services, rate you charge per km, surcharges, services you offer and availability. We also show him/her the 1-5 stars representing your past performance as it was rated
by previous customers that have booked with you.
Do you show my personal details?
No , we only provide your contact details and name to the customer when the booking is confirmed.

Does Taxi Club expect a certain quality of car for the bookings?

It is mandatory for all drivers to follow a professional dress code.

Your vehicle must be roadworthy, should be kept clean, free from fumes or excessive noise.

It will also influence the feedback we ask customers to give after the trip, which could influence other customers when booking.

Is there a minimum length of time I'm committed to your site?

No, there's no minimum length, although we hope you stay with Taxi Club for a very long time and enjoy new business from us.


Rates are per person o per vehicle?

Fares are per vehicle and not per person.

How many bookings a week can I expect?

We can't offer any specific numbers because, in part, it depends on you! The more you price your cars competitively and offer a good service, the higher your chances of customers booking you.

How do customers book a taxi?

Customers can book a taxi online using our booking form or by phone. When the customer books online, he/ she browse the "Taxis in South Africa" page and choose the vehicle they want. Each vehicle profile has details such as features, color, pictures, rate you charge per km,  etc.  After selecting the vehicle he/she will complete the booking form and send it to us. Upon receipt of the booking form we will confirm that everything is in order and send you the booking request.  If they book by phone we will assign directly any available vehicle for the job.

How do you send me a booking request?

We will send you the booking details and taxi fare to your e-mail address and also by SMS.

What do I do with a booking request?

You have to accept or decline the job. If you accept the job we will send you the full booking confirmation with the customer details.

Can a customer request any additional requirements for the trip when booking?

On each taxi profile published on the Taxi Club website, we display information regarding any special services and surcharges you might offer e.g. additional stop, waiting time, after hour surcharge special features like trailer, etc.  So when customer calculates his/her  trip fare and completes the booking form he/she must also include these additional charges.


What happen if the ride is cancelled by the driver?

If the driver needs to cancel the trip we require a minimum of 24 hours. In the event of emergency, drivers must contact the taxi Club call centre asap so that we can make alternative arrangements.

What happen if the ride is cancelled by a customer?

If a customer paid directly via EFT or Credit Card and cancels the trip within 24 hours, we don’t charge any cancellation fee and the customer is refunded the entire trip payment. No monies due to the taxi operator.

If the customer cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the trip a 50% cancellation fee will apply and we will pay you 10% of the customer cancellation fee.

No Show issues

What happens if the customer is late or does not show?

For Taxi Club bookings, the driver must wait for the passengers for up to 15 minutes free of charge at the pickup point but within these 15 minutes the driver must notify taxi club call center about the customer delay. After 15 minutes, you can still take the passengers, charging the customer directly for additional waiting time, with any related payment to be negotiated and collected by you directly from the customer.  After 15 minutes, you are not obliged to take the passengers, and so we will treat this situation like a Cancellation less than 24 hours, whereby we retain the Customer's payment and compensate you for 10% of the original trip payment.

What happens if the driver is late for a pickup?

If the driver is more than 15 minutes late, then the customer is entitled to a full refund of the original payment if she/he is not willing to take that trip anymore  (with no payment to you). However, if the customer still departs in your car - even if beyond the initial 15 minutes - he/she is entitled to a 10% compensation refund of the original payment and this will be deducted from your trip payment as a penalty for arriving late.
Please note that as you will have the Taxi Club call centre number, you are required to phone us first and inform us about your delay within these15 minutes waiting period.  Secondly as you will have the customer's phone number, we expect you also to inform him/her within these 15 minutes waiting period that you are running late. Likewise, the customer will have your mobile number, so we expect both parties to resolve any issues directly. We will monitor these late show up  incidents by your business – if they frequently occur, then we may at our discretion remove you from future searches, as we want to work with operators who can deliver an acceptable customer experience.

What happens if the driver doesn't show up for the pickup?

After the 15 minutes waiting period has elapsed, the passenger is required to call our call centre so we can make an alternative arrangement. If the customer is not satisfied with this arrangement or is no longer interested in the trip, she/he will entitle to a full refund of the original payment. In this case driver will incur severe penalties.
Can I use a car or driver different from the one registered on my profile?
No,  you must always use the same car and driver registered on your profile.

Special Circumstances

What happens if the customer wants to cancel a booking directly with me, or wants to reschedule it?

In order to cancel a booking the customer needs to contact us, The Taxi club. Otherwise the cancellation and any entitlement to refunds will not be processed. Also, if they want to reschedule the trip, they must cancel their original booking and book another trip that will be subject to the prices and availability at that time.

What if, during the trip, the customer wants to make some changes

The booking and its payment strictly relate to the details provided on the booking form or by phone to one of our agents.  If during the trip the customer needs to make some alterations such as additional stops or request you  to  collect him/her early or later than the agreed collection time you will need to discuss this directly with the customer, including charging the customer directly for any additional service.

What happens if the customer disputes payment, or the quality of service offered?

Any disputes are to be managed directly between the customer and the taxi operator (just like it is with customers and airlines, even if booked via a travel website). At our discretion, we may withhold payment until the dispute has been satisfactorily resolved.


How do I get paid?

We will pay you by EFT (electronic fund transfers) or Direct Bank deposit into the bank account you have provided in the registration form.

You can choose to get paid on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

How do customers pay for the trip?

The Taxi Club works on a pre-paid basis, customers can pay for the rides buying pre-paid vouchers through our website, via EFT or Credit Card.

After the ride

What happens after the ride?

We aim to improve our services to both you and the customer therefore we will ask the customer to rate your service. This will be on a scale of 1-5 where 1 being not good and 5 meaning excellent service.

What is this rating based on?

We will ask the customer to rate the general impression of the overall service he received from you based on things like arriving on time, politeness, your drive, cleanliness of your car etc.

What do you do with this rating information?

Your average rating will be shown on your profile and will help you to promote yourself.


Can I update my details?

Yes of course, at any point, simply send us an e-mail to and we will update the information for you.


How can I give feedback to Taxi Club?
